Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of executing physical shipments including but not limited to contract issuance, invoicing, shipment tracking, document generation and IT system updation.

Execution of trade once the commercial terms are agreed by the traders with our counterparties which will involve

1. Preparation of contracts / order acknowledgement

2. Monitoring of shipments on a routine basis

3. Timely and routine updating of IT system to reflect quantity, quality, status & related information of cargo at all times

4. Preparation, verification, and handling of all shipping documents

5. Responsible for handling discrepancy free documents

6. Tracking on TR (trust receipt) and monitoring of repayments

7. Adherence to SLA’s and the necessary operational functions resulting from these which include but are not restricted to issuances, amendments, payments plus the booking and maintenance of all such product included

8. Responsible for vetting LC’s against sales/ purchase contracts and advice discrepancies/ corrections etc.

9. Responsible to generate MIS reports in the above areas

Any other duties as assigned by management



Desired Candidate Profile

Graduate with Professional qualification in Finance / Operations / or a related subject, Master degree holder is preferable, CDCS certification is an added advantage.

Minmium 3 years relevant experience.

  • Commercial sensitivity, energy, drive and ownership to run efficient operations and resolve operational issues.
  • Exposure to preparation of documents for presentation under import / export Letters of credit.
  • Fluent English essential as contact with traders and internal departments is conducted in English.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required as daily contact with internal departments and customers/service providers in different geographical areas is needed to conduct daily operations.
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours in the event of deadlines and work well under pressure
  • IT skills: Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Should have good understanding on the metals trading business and contracts.
  • Back to back matching of conditions with customers /supplier is an advantage.
  • Should possess good knowledge of Incoterms, UCP 600, ISBP, URGG and ISP98.
  • Ability to work under own initiative in a pressure environment
  • Must have strong attention to detail, must be accurate and precise
