Job DescriptionDatabase administration involves installing, configuring, monitoring, maintaining, and improving the performance of databases and data stores. While design of databases would be part of solution architecture, the implementation and maintenance of development and production database environments would be the work of the DBA.Job Responsibilities
  • Installation of RDBMS software on windows/Linux platform
  • Good knowledge of exp-imp, data pump utility.
  • Maintaining physical and logical backups via user managed & RMAN backup recoveries.
  • Checking Alert Log files for Internal Database Activity, DB related error
  • Applying Different Types of Patches on quarterly For Fixing the bugs and Security issues.
  • Creating users, allocation to appropriate table space, as with necessary privileges and roles for all databases.
  • Upgrade databases using the related utilities.
  • Database performance tuning and configuring stats pack report.
  • Develop processes for optimizing database security.
  • Set and maintain database standards.
  • Manage database access.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
  • Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
  • Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
  • Create automation for repeating database tasks.
  • Be available for on-call support as needed.
Skill Sets & Responsibilities
  • Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
  • Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
  • PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills
  • Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field
  • One to three years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field
  • Experience with Linux, Windows Server, Virtualization, and Hyperconverged environments
  • Extensive experience with database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB)
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) is a plus
  • Transparent communication and the ability to work with a diverse team and customers at all levels
  • The want to continually learn and expand their knowledge/skills and will to share with the rest of the team
