Job Brief

We are looking for technicians to aid in the setup of our lab space and to work with our engineering team on building and testing prototypes. Technicians will also be required to assist in lab management duties, such as purchasing and maintaining equipment. Qualified candidates should have prior hands-on experience working in mechanical, electrical, and/or chemical labs or industrial companies. Technicians are expected to operate Fourier equipment at customer sides during early prototype pilots and commissioning.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Manage lab resources

  • Assist and advise on component selection from external suppliers

  • Order/track components and ensure delivery and installation of equipment

  • Maintain instrumentation and lab space organization

  • Aid engineers in prototype assembly and testing, including:

    • Construction of test fixtures

    • Electrical wiring for both low voltage and high voltage/high current circuits

    • Rework electronic boards

    • Hydrogen gas processing (piping, drying, etc.)

    • Water processing (pumps, filtration, etc.)

    • Trouble shooting during bring-up and operation

  • Aid in commissioning and operating Fourier equipment at pilot partners/customers

Qualifications

Required:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Effective communication skills

  • Capable of handling a variety of tasks and working on a team

  • Experience in reading and understanding technical documentation such as CAD, and P&ID and derive install/assemble instructions

  • Manual dexterity to assemble small components

  • Experience with electrical/mechanical assembly

  • Ability to perform prototype testing per written specification or verbal instruction

  • Experience working with piping/tubing, pumps, fittings, sensors, electronics, power supply/potentiostat, and/or electrical wiring

  • Hands-On and Can-Do attitude


Preferred:

  • Experience building mechanical and/or electrical lab spaces

  • Knowledge of deionization water filtration systems

  • Experience working with hydrogen gas

  • Ability to perform failure analyses of components
