Principal QA Engineer - Automation, Rest Assured

Job Title : Principal Quality Engineering(WIQE-G6)

Fidelity Investments has an exciting opportunity for a Principal with strong Quality Engineering talent.

As a Principal Quality Engineering, you will focus on both hands-on Quality Engineering delivery (front end and back end technologies) along with People Management. The individual will work directly with both technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements and technical solution designs into sustainable quality solutions within Fidelity Investments’ Quality engineering group.

The Purpose of This Role

This Quality Engineering role will play a player-coach role within the WI India technology team. This individual will be responsible for the creation of quality engineering deliverables within web based software & API’s based applications. The primary objective of the Workplace Investing (WI) team is to enable the business in USA, while working with IT business partners in a well-integrated way. You will be working in agile teams alongside Scrum Master, Software Developers, Architects, Analysts and other business stakeholders to translate requirements and designs into business solutions. Your knowledge of testing and testability will influence better software design, promote proper software engineering and bug prevention strategies, testability and security.

The Value You Deliver

• Provide and oversee implementation of End to End test Strategy solutions for their squad / scrum as well those within same domain.
• Take responsibility of testing of complex or multiple software applications using standard engineering practices.
• Being able to advance the work of the squad by engaging hands-on in testing execution, defect management and metrics reporting.
• Perform independent analysis of functional, regression and smoke test suits. Provide continuous improvement ideas for overall product quality improvement.
• Assists in determining and developing approaches to automation frameworks and tools.
• Participates in team project planning, agile ceremonies, and retrospections. Collaborate with scrum masters for overall quality responsibility
• Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
• Identifies and resolves technical issues. Provides technical supervision on small projects.
• Works on multiple projects concurrently under moderate direction.
• Coach Quality Engineers/ chapter members to improve their performance, knowledge, and expertise.
• People performance management for small to mid size quality engineering teams across multiple projects.

The Skills that are Key to this role

• Should have a good understanding of complete software development lifecycle using agile methodology including functional analysis, technical design, coding, testing, defect management and DevOps.
• Apply analytical, problem-solving, engineering skills in designing reliable, reusable software solutions or utilities that will maximize test coverage, reduce risk and validate overall quality of the software solutions.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new technology solutions to meet the needs of agile teams.
• Demonstrate expertise in building end to end test strategy with comprehensive test coverage
• Deep expertise in Functional testing, regression testing and End 2 End testing and working experience using Behaviour Driven (BDD) frameworks

Required technical skills

• Strong analytical skills and high aptitude to learn and adapt to new processes
• Involved in design, development and enhancement of Automation frame works.
• Can effectively debug and test own automation code, software code, and SQL.
• Hands on experience in Selenium is mandatory
• Expertise in Core Java Programming and excellent in OOPs concepts.
• Hands on expertise in Webservices Testing – Rest Assured
• Very Strong in Database testing and hands-on experience is building SQL queries
• Good understanding of CI-CD Engineering
• Good Understanding of Cloud Engineering concepts

Experience in one or more of the following is good to have:

• Web UI development including AJAX, Angular JS
• Web Services development using REST and SOAP
• Building complex SQL queries
• Service Virtualization, Test data Virtualization Various automation testing for Mobile, Functional UI/API/DB, Mainframe testing Experience in following multiple tools is a strong plus: Selenium, TestNG, Cucucmber, RestAssured, PL SQL
• Understanding and working experience of Non-functional testing is preferred

The Expertise We are Looking For

• 10+ years of experience predominantly in Software Quality Engineering or Development
• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another related field

Hands-on Software Development in Test experience, which includes any of the following:

• 4+ years of using Object Oriented Languages like Java, Python et
• 5+ years of automation framework or scripting experience (not record and playback)
• Experience in Financial Investment Management Industry is a plus.
