Job Purpose

The scope of the role is centred on assigned project activities to provide engineering solutions with excellent technical understanding and minimal supervision. Responsibilities include execution and reporting of projects tasks, adapting to dynamic changes in project, self-awareness on process and tools and quality compliance

Principal Accountabilities (A)

Technical Management



Understands requirements

  • Accountable to understand the technical requirements and carryout the project related activities as per project specification and checklists


Technical solution generation

  • Accountable to implement engineering solutions within assigned time and effort estimated/planned
  • Responsible to proactively pre-empt what is required and ask for help/information from supervisor to ensure he/she delivers as expected


Tool/Engineering design-awareness and knowledge

  • Responsible to develop required proficiency in usage of relevant tools by acquiring tool knowledge
  • Accountable to be aware of project standards, both, International/local and as required by the customer


Skill development and contribution

  • Responsible to proactively upgrade domain knowledge, technical skills as needed by the project
  • Provides inputs for improvement in productivity, upgrade team technical skills by imparting training/sharing knowledge with the team


Knowledge management

  • Contributes to creation of documents (to-do manuals, user guides, analysis documents, features manual for functional testing) for knowledge sharing within team

Project execution

  • Understands the scope, purpose and objectives as defined in the project
  • Responsible for planning, organizing and prioritising work assigned, multi-disciplinary team coordination, efficiently handling those activities as advised by Project Lead/Project Manager by eliminating unnecessary activities


Project review and reporting

  • Responsible to report the progress of the project to the Project Lead/Project Manager as per the plan
  • Responsible for understanding the estimated efforts as per the project requirements and meeting the project milestones

Technical Focus Areas

Skills:
3 to 6 years of experience in Embedded Software/Firmware development
Very good understanding of Embedded software
Very good in Embedded C programming languages
Good understanding of BareMetal Software and RTOS concepts (Experience on Any RTOS is fine)
Should have hands on experience in communication protocols like e.g. RS232, I2C, SPI, CAN, USB device.
Experience in Board Bring up, Hardware interfacing for ADC/DAC, Display, Electromechanical components
Preferred to have experience with Linux/RTOS bootloaders
Work experience with standard embedded platforms e.g. Atmel, STM32, TI, Freescale/NXP, Renesas, Nordic, Microchip
Experience on Unit testing and Static code analysis, MISRA C standards
Good knowledge on Software / Hardware debugging tools, Oscilloscopes, JTAG, Logic Analyzers
Good knowledge on version control software like GIT, SVN
Preferred to have knowledge and experience in Linux OS, build environments like yocto /buildroot
Preferred to have Knowledge on GUI (Graphical user interface) libraries, and experience on graphic displays
Preferred to have Knowledge on any of the lifecycle management software
Preferred to have knowledge on standards like EN 60601-1-6, EN 60601-1-8 & EN 62304
Preferred to have working experience for medical devices.
