An Engineering Managers Role and Life at Engagifii


An Engineering Manager at Crescerance is a great manager and a great team builder. He or she will be an excellent recruiter, a great communicator, and a great issue resolver. His job is to make everyone in the engineering organization successful and s/he needs to fix the issues that are getting in the way of success.


S/he will be responsible for shaping its technical and software development strategy, and driving its development execution that will firmly place Crescerance’s SaaS Products as the leaders in the markets they serve.


S/he will recruit world-class talent, manage the appropriate development methodologies, and create the proper organizational structure to drive a high performing development team to deliver these applications to the market with relentless execution.


S/he will have the ability to bridge technology with business acumen, will bring experience in developing industry leading customer facing applications, and will develop and sustain a culture of passion, hard-work, and innovation that will make Crescerance the place to be for anyone interested in developing the industry-leading SaaS applications.


Accountabilities


  • Create a technology blueprint for the product stack and drive thoughtfulness and long term thinking around architecture, design and implementation.
  • Strategic planning for all product development efforts to include the subsequent testing, release and production environment needs
  • Manage Software Development’s ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospective, etc.)
  • Ensure software developed passes security and vulnerability tests
  • Recruiting, managing and continuously developing through leadership and collaborative team building a world-class team of technology professionals viewed as the leader in the energy management industry
  • Being an active spokesperson and evangelist both internally and externally by communicating and promoting the Company’s technology vision and solutions
  • Evaluating new technologies and solutions in the market and being responsible for keeping abreast of trends that may impact the Company
  • Ensuring the knowledge sharing of engineering best practices across departments; and developing and monitoring technical standards to ensure adherence to them.
  • Being directly responsible for establishing and managing the technology budget to maximize utilization of resources and delivery of products and solutions.

  • Requirements


  • Previous senior leadership roles in product development and engineering for high growth companies
  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing software development teams to create market products
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Engineering Manager (or similar) position in another organization.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field
  • Proven ability to recruit the best and brightest developers in the world and provide them with a vision and working environment to develop world-class applications while instituting compelling performance measurements that continually drive transparency and improved performance. Should have a network of developers they trust that they could recruit with the drop of a hat.
  • Should have worked in a Microsoft development environment.
  • Should have a proven track record of building B2B products. This person should be extremely self-motivated and willing to lead from the front.
  • Strong technical & product background with the ability to command the respect and lead a team of world class software engineers
  • Strong knowledge in software development life cycle processes, and best practices
  • Must demonstrate strong business capabilities and a passion to drive client’s satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated success in a highly challenging environment. Specifically, can show experience as to how he/she can adapt to many differing personalities as well as differing goals and intentions.
  • Demonstrated ownership of multiple products engineering efforts and experience in making the trade-offs on expectations (schedule, requirements, resource allocations) required to achieve business success.
  • Experience in building and maintaining applications that are mission critical for customers
  • Experience in software design patterns, development frameworks and security standards
  • Excellent communication skills, strong team player, and the ability to manage multi-cultural and multiple time zone stakeholders
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
