Job Title
Analyst Distribution PlanningJob Description
The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for the distribution and logistics of 4 Weekly magazine titles
manufactured at multiple printing plants. The SCM role interacts with Meredith magazine
production teams, transportation vendors, print manufacturing personnel, national retail
distribution and wholesale distribution partners, United States Postal System operations personnel
and other Meredith production group employees on a regular basis.
Specific responsibilities include:
Creating distribution plans for the Weekly magazine titles
Managing weekly plant production schedule to meet delivery requirements
Managing transportation vendors including negotiating rates, service levels and approving
invoices
Reporting / resolving issues with USPS deliveries and operations
Identifying cost savings through routing schemes, alternative carriers, load planning, and
postal entry point changes, etc.
Identifying and implementing distribution plans that improve newsstand and subscriber
delivery timeliness
Conducting various distribution team optimization initiatives / studies
The SCM position requires highly developed analytical, project management, oral and written
communications and both team and independent work skills. The successful individual must have
the ability to build effective working relationships across numerous internal and external groups
and possess a strong customer focus orientation. The ability to think clearly under pressure and to
act decisively is essential to this position.
A college degree in Logistics / Distribution and/or a minimum of 3‐4 years industry work experience
in distribution, logistics or postal operations is preferred. Advanced excel skills are required.
