As a Global Procurement Data Engineer at Micron Technology Inc., you are a key member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing advanced solutions and predictive models that enable speed in decision making and deliver significant value across procurement. You are required constantly to learn new cutting-edge technology and creatively apply/deliver solutions to the Global Procurement area. You will collaborate with various roles and teams across the enterprise to design and implement solutions to extract data and insights from Global Procurement team and partnering organizations such as Supply Chain and IT, as well as Master Data, Data Governance and Data Scientist throughout the enterprise.

Your responsibilities and tasks will include, but not limited to:

Understand the business problem and the data that is relevant to the problem
  • Develop a good understanding of company and department strategy
  • Identify and understand the data sources that are relevant to the business problem.
  • Develop models that capture the relationships within the data.
  • Translate data analysis needs into solution requirements
Uncover Patterns in Data, Develop Models, and Evaluate Validity of Solutions
  • Develop expertise in data mining and analytic methods
  • Determine statistical validity and significance (pick out signals from noise)
  • Identify and apply appropriate analytical models
  • Evaluate results using statistical methods and improve the model where appropriate
  • Develop predictive models
Architect Data Analysis Systems
  • Identify optimum tools and methods to build data solutions for continuous deployment in an agile environment
  • Develop and automate ETL jobs for various volumes of data
  • Work with developers and architects to establish and enhance a Master Data framework.
  • Drive new analytics, reporting, and automation capabilities including the use of advanced data science solutions
  • Partner closely with GP stakeholders to understand solution work flows and support data visualization and information-based decision-making
Design for Operations and Deploy Data Science Models into Business Processes
  • Develop self-service analytics and reporting solutions for use by the Global Procurement team
  • Prepare and deliver powerful presentations with rich data visualizations and meaningful business conclusions
  • Ensure that the data science models deployed are easy to support and maintain
  • Regularly review deployed models and monitor for continual improvement
  • Validate that the business value has been met
Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience as a software/solution, data or domain architect designing and implementing large-scale data-driven systems
  • Proficient in SQL and Python
  • Experience in setting up and managing data workflow management tools like Airflow or Azkaban
  • Experience in managing CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins/Bamboo) and code repository (BitBucket&GitHub)
  • Experience in Data Visualization tools or libraries like Tableau, PowerBI, Python visualization libraries.
  • Good Understanding of Docker
Experience

s & Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems or related field of study (equivalent experience considered)
