Functional skills and capability:

This role is responsible for the overall operation, management, and strategic implementation of the Pharmacy Retail operation. Should have good people management skills, retail business operational skills, planning & implementation skills with defined timelines. Should be task-oriented person and should have decision making skills. Should maintain good relations with other departments. Background and knowledge of pharmaceutics and their drugs and interactions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, detail, managerial and interpersonal skills.


Primary Responsibility:

  • Conduct market research and advise the Manager and Head of Operations on the new areas to invest
  • Set up new retail outlets and growing exponentially the vertical business through organic and inorganic routes
  • Responsible for managing the P/L for the assigned stores
  • Responsible for sourcing & procurement of drugs, consumables, with least inventory and no stock outs
  • Supervise pharmacy & operational requirements by organizing and directing the work flow, verifying order entries, charges and inspections.
  • Manage pharmacy operations, drug, formulary, inventory management, sale and footfall of the pharmacy in the hospital as well as in the retail outlets.
  • Ensure inventory levels in the stores are at the minimum by following various methods such as LIFO, FIFO, VED, Consignment, just in time and so on.
  • Look for opportunities and avenues to grow the business beyond retail pharmacy stores.
  • To improve revenue per store by moving beyond the traditional pharmacy space and entering the wellness and beauty products space.
  • Maintain duty roster and ensure stores are always adequately staffed.
  • Conduct frequent store audits to ensure the stock and sales figures match.
