Roles and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales and Marketing: Applies business unit marketing policies, procedures, and plans. Utilizes selling process (can include social selling tools) to achieve sales results. Demonstrate and train external customers on product applications.
  • Represents business unit products and services to customers and prospects. Demonstrates ability to affect change and clearly articulate 3M’s value proposition such as gaining new business or competitive conversions.
  • Provide appropriate sales support services to customers and distributors, based on level of knowledge
  • Proactively reports all new or unusual pertinent market conditions, competitor activities, and product performance information to supervisor.
  • Produce appropriate sales reports in a timely manner and update and maintain company database with accurate and up-to-date information according to guidelines.
  • Develop and build strong relationships with key internal functions to improve business process and sales strategies.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Science Graduate or Postgraduates added advantage if the candidate is certified Nurse
  • Min 4 to 8 years of experience in direct sales capability, preferred in similar industry (Devices, Pharma industry working for critical care).
  • Demonstrates medium level of proficiency in English language skills
  • Basic influencing and communication skills, listening, interpersonal, negotiating, presentation, planning, administrative and coordinating skills, and analytical skills. Requires use of computers, including basic PC software. May require learning of specialized sales software and on-line sales support systems.
  • Ability to build cohesive relationship with customers
  • Sound knowledge of the wound market and the products is the added advantage.
