Job Profile


Design and development of electrical and electronics systems and integration with engine and vehicle systems. To lead a team of young engineers and to develop capable team in handling the new technology development to company


Major Deliverables


  • Responsible for designing, reviewing power electronics circuits for automotive applications while complying with quality, cost and project timelines
  • Execute simulations to right size components before building prototypes
  • To develop designs that optimize system behavior from reliability, thermal, EMC.
  • Test prototypes in laboratory and vehicle setups to confirm compliance to standards.
  • Communication to CFT like mechanical CAD designers, electrical PCB designers, software architects and validation teams to create power electronic designs in Engine Control Units, Motor Drivers, DCDC converters, Battery chargers etc.
  • Design and development and monitoring of wiring harness with reference to new technology requirements. Integration of the same with vehicle wiring harness seamlessly
  • Development of cutting edge technology for future growth of the company
  • Development of alternate powertrain technology by utilizing the existing platform design

10 - 12 years

Likely organization where this profile would be available: Tier 1 suppliers, Manufacturers of Home Inverters, UPS systems

Technical Competencies


  • General knowledge on automotive hardware and firmware development
  • Working knowledge of motors, controls and sensors
  • Knowledge of CAN Bus communication
  • Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink
  • Validation and verification of software
  • Knowledge of mode in loop and hardware in loop testing
  • Knowledge of designing power electronics circuits for automotive applications
  • Working knowledge of OBD1 and OBD2
  • Working knowledge of EMI/EMC

Following would be an added advantage


  • Has experience in resolving EMC issues for power electronics designs.
  • Familiar with industry norms for access and usage of Open Source Software and License Usage agreements.
