• As a part of Varahe Analytics, you will have a chance to understand and analyze politics at the grassroot level in a state, perform original research and analysis in areas related to politics for a national party with presence across India.
• Associates are part of the Political Intelligence vertical in Varahe Analytics and work with the organization and client team members to develop political strategy and implement campaigns for the client. Members of the team interact closely with political leaders and other key stakeholders at the constituency, district, and state level with an objective of detecting the political pulse through a series of rigorous primary and secondary research initiatives, political liaising, ground-level networking with relevant stakeholders, investigative intel gathering methods and sourcing of qualitative and quantitative data. They also work with the client team in campaign execution and own the end to end implementation for a few selected campaigns in their region. The role demands maintenance of high levels of confidentiality and display of exemplary client management skills.

What Would This Role Entail?

• Conduct primary research on the ground and understand grassroot level politics.
• Closely follow all the key political and socio-economic developments in their assigned region along with a broad view of the state’s and nation’s politics to devise local campaigns and electoral strategies.
• Conduct rigorous ground research through focus group discussions, interviews and investigative methods to understand the social and political landscape of the region.
• Use secondary research methods to draw up detailed reports and insights on the state and constituencies to convey past and current political scenarios and developments.
• Build networks by networking with politically aware individuals and stakeholders such as political functionaries, local leaders, journalists, etc to gather insights on political developments in the respective region across the time period till elections.
• All of this should be done in an unbiased way.
• Deriving insights from electoral and demographic data using statistical techniques.
• Prepare constituency, voter cohort or issue specific reports to be shared with the internal and external stakeholders.

Necessary SkillsEducational qualification: Bachelor’s degree and above

• 1-3 years of experience.
• Professional proficiency in English and speaking proficiency in Odia required.
• Willingness to travel extensively and apply themselves.
• Exposure of working in fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Good understanding of politics and the nature of India’s democracy.
• Good proficiency in the Office suite and G suite software.
• Political awareness and sensibility.
• Structured thinking and ability to logically structure documents.
• Teamwork and effective division of tasks.
• Ability to undertake and monitor multiple tasks and ensure timely delivery.
• Mathematical ability and data analysis skills.
• Be unbiased in judgment.
