Special Assignments. Roles and Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Audit of cash and bank process (OP billing), IP billing, inventory, AP, HR and other as per specified scope.

• Supporting Manager & GM - Business Processes and Controls in audits and supporting/coordinating with unit Finance Manager on audit observations.

  • Performing IFC audits and other expenses audits

Audit

1. Detailed IP audit covering all related areas including but not limited to (not an exhaustive list): To ensure the order entries done as per the billing booklet, latest charge master, finance manual, agreements etc. basis the progress note, nursing notes etc.


a. Equipment charges.

b. OT Room Rent, OT Gas Charges

c. Room rent, surgeon fee, nursing fee

d. Procedure Charges

e. Drugs, MS & consignment items, implants

f. Multi charge item.

g. MLC, ER, Doc. Charges, Admin charges etc.

h. High Risk, Emergency Charges

i. Govt. Notifications & Regulations

j. Daily E-mail of issues, follow-up, and closure

k. IP Estimate vs. actual

l. Authorization /Guarantee docs status for Insurance and corporate patients.

m. Unbilled IP Cases etc.

n. Common control failures graphical presentation Tagging of Patients under Self, Insurance, Corporate/ ECHS/CGHS

o. Deleted order entries review

p. Discount approval Compliance


a. Out-patient bills on sample basis 40 samples daily. Special focus areas:


a. Nursing procedures b. Emergency Dept. c. Payment on Service / unallocated bills/deposits d. Unbilled OP bills e. Dialysis / DayCare Procedure /Chemo Procedures f. Employee Health check coupon g. Home Physio, Blood Collection h. OP unbilled monitoring i. Online/Tele consultations review


b.Surprise cash verification of 3 counters & caf daily. Daily Cash float closure (GL 1561200 & 1561300) reconciliation. Monitoring unclosed CCR. CCR VS Bank Deposit reconciliation, Review of BRS, Petty Cash Expenses review

c. Audit and follow up on exception reports circulated by IMO and trend analysis

d. Refund transactions audit of minimum 15 samples daily.

e. Discount approval matrix compliance and trend analysis of common control failures daily.

f. OE deletion control and analysis of trend dept/staff-wise daily.

g. HCF fee calculation for INTP patients as per policy & INTP patients checklist compliance including analysis of common failures -Monthly

h. Referral & B2B Process compliance as per policy including analysis of common failures -Monthly

i. Surprise physical verification of Caf stock -mainly MRP items on fortnightly basis. Check daily recon. of IDS to Care21 collection done by Finance

j. Review of Admin-Others closure & escalation- if not closed on weekly basis. Refer Admin-Others process note.

k. Self-Pay /Staff /dependents outstanding trend analysis

l. Audit Dashboard preparation and reporting monthly including timesheet submission

m. Review of the following:

i. IFC - Internal Financial Controls - annual review

ii. Steps initiated/implemented to minimize the repeated errors/control failures across audit focused areas by CC /Nursing/OT team/ other stakeholders.

iii. Review of Doctor Fee calculations and payment every July, Oct, Jan and April -Key FT, PT and FFS doctors

iv. Contract employee: Headcount to attendance to invoice review and matching : Sep , Dec and Feb

n. Special Assignments.


Desired Candidate Profile

MBA-Finance/ CA (Inter) with 3 to 4 years of internal audit experience
