Job Description


A Financial Accountant- India will provide assistance in all transactional & financial accounting and corporate reporting of the India regional office including ensuring compliance with company, statutory and fiscal requirements and timetables.



What will I be doing?

As Financial Accountant - India, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Processes & Transactional Accounting:
  • Accounts Payable (Third Party Suppliers)
  • Team Member Business Expense Reimbursement
  • Accounts Receivable (including local billing)
  • Payroll (Processing)
  • General Ledger (including Fixed Assets Register)

Reporting:

  • Month End Reporting (Close process in Sun GL, Load to Psoft, Supporting Schedules)
  • Monthly / Quarterly / Annual Group Reporting requirements
  • Provide transactional information to support business analysis and decision making
  • Miscellaneous reporting requests

Assistance in Local Statutory Filings and Compliance:

  • Handling Statutory Audit including preparation and filing of statutory accounts (including Internal Financial Controls review)
  • Group Secretarial Filings and duties for local Hilton entities
  • Oversee completion of Government Reports & Surveys
  • Compliance with Sarbanes Oxhley and Hilton Policies & Procedures

Tax:

Working closely with the Financial Controller for ensuring the tax compliances such as :

  • Ensure Tax compliance for the local entities (Business Tax, Corp Income Tax, Withholding Tax, GST, TP etc.)
  • Completion of quarterly tax reconciliation and annual tax pack
  • Ad hoc financial analysis and support to the Tax function
  • Support to Hilton US tax team for necessary filings in India

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Keep up to date on all financial systems. Work with corporate finance in coordinating accounting changes / variances within the various platforms.
  • Attend corporate and operations finance meetings as required.
  • Assist in special projects as required. Report actions taken or procedural changes necessary to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist corporate finance, hotel finance teams, and central finance with financial issues and irregularities. Recommend and help implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Any and all other job duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of business mathematics, including ability to calculate percentage changes and averages/weighted averages; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint including ability to understand/manipulate spreadsheets.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or Candidate with strong Accounting and tax background having at least 2-3 years experience.
  • Candidates in the same/similar profiles will be given preference.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural or international settings
  • Language: English

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Hospitality industry experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian GAAP
