Team and Role:Engagement Independence | Assistant Manager

Location:Hyderabad, India
Shift timing:11:00 am to 8:00 pm
Qualification:MBA or equivalent (preferably Finance)
Overall relevant experience: 6 - 8 years

Work you’ll do

As a part of this team, you will be involved with:

  • Coordinating quality control processes and advising Audit/Assurance engagement teams on entities restricted for independence purpose and their affiliates to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Work with engagement team members on evaluating affiliates based on applicable policies (SEC, AICPA, PCAOB)
  • Manage and oversee updates made in Independence systems; perform quality assurance reviews on the updates made by the team members.
  • Support senior management by handling various operational responsibilities within the Engagement Independence team and preparing MIS reports

Independence & Conflicts Network (ICN) - Engagement Independence

Our team supports in maintaining the Independence of Deloitte clients and its professionals by proactively identifying and managing potential conflicts of interest. We provide support and guidance to the internal clients in various independence related activities such as:

  • Analyze affiliates under applicable regulatory policies
  • Manage client and its organisation structure information on various compliance tools
  • Preparation of relevant documentation for regulatory purposes
  • Monitoring M&A activities
Qualifications

Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated by impactful, clear, and concise writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to confidently communicate with Deloitte professionals including Partners, Principals, and Managing Directors (PPMDs).
  • Experienced in managing professionals or teams, including in a virtual environment
  • Strong secondary research skills, preferably in financial instruments, equity markets etc.
  • Ability to execute complex tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Should be able to collaborate with the US teams as well as global contacts
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion with the ability to handle confidential data
  • Proficient in standard office-productivity tools (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills demonstrated by ability to organize and maintain several key responsibilities at once, while managing ad hoc requests
  • Ability to effectively work independently, and as part of a team, in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to present ideas and business recommendations for the continuous improvement of processes
  • Ability to identify team member strengths and improvement areas and provide detailed feedback plan for continued development
  • Project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects and tasks within tight deadlines

Preferred:

  • Basic awareness of regulatory policies pertaining to the securities markets and the PCAOB
  • Experience in independence related matters in a Professional Services Firm or other relevant professional or regulatory rules
  • Experience working in a large corporation or accounting firm
  • Familiarity with various research tools (Eikon, OneSource, Bloomberg, D&B)
