Quest Alliance is looking for a dynamic Communications Specialist to plan, execute and support the organization’s thought leadership and brand building initiatives.

As the Communications Specialist, your responsibilities will include developing messaging strategies across platforms; creating compelling, creatively crafted content for organisational and brand products; and overseeing content quality and tonality of Quest’s publications and thought leadership products. A particular focus of your work will be drafting articles, stories and experiences for the blog and other digital platforms.

As part of Quest’s thought leadership work, you will anchor Media Engagement for the organization, working closely with different teams to promote Quest’s work in external media spaces.

You will also work collaboratively on the strategy and implementation for Quest’s flagship conference Quest to Learn, supporting the team in online and offline events under this series.


This role requires skills and expertise in content writing, copy craft and media relations. Responsibilities include:


Messaging

  • Develop Strategic Messaging for Organisation Communications
  • Develop Messaging Strategies across Platforms
  • Support Communication Strategy for Organisational events
  • Creative writing and copy craft for various platforms
  • Conduct research to produce relevant content with compelling narrative
  • Convert stories/ impact from the field into marketing products
  • Manage cadences for Newsletters and Blogs, and oversee messaging and quality.
  • Support in fundraising communication
  • Support in drafting scripts for video and other audio-visual products
  • Sector level knowledge development
  • Editing and Proof-reading

Media

  • Develop and anchor Media Strategy and Engagement for the organization, including regional media strategies
  • Support regional/program teams in Media Engagement activities
  • Track coverage and PR initiatives in the sector and analyze coverage on a regular basis
  • Lead event Media strategy and engagement for the organization

Coordination and Organizational Responsibilities

  • Collaborate & work across teams, including executive leadership, to produce the right content for the right channel
  • Coordinate with vendors, external agencies and consultants
  • Input to MarCom Budgeting process
  • Networking and relationship building for growth
  • Developing the process for internal collaboration and work management
  • Applying inclusion at work and communicating in inclusive manner
  • How to share stories on gender inclusivity externally

Requirements

  • Excellent English Language Proficiency. Working knowledge of other Indian languages plus.
  • 6-8 years of experience in writing, editing, copy craft and producing materials for publication or strategic communication/relations with media.
  • Experience in generating alternative storytelling forms including video, infographics.
  • Knowledge of the non-profit sector and the context to which non-profit organizations operate. Is passionate about the challenges India is facing in educating and skilling its youth population
  • Strong project management skills.
  • The ability to work independently while also fostering and maintaining a spirit of unity, teamwork and cooperation with others.
  • Ability to work with executive and senior management; excellent negotiation, influencing and presentation skills

Can deal with ambiguity and proactively explore solutions
