Roles and Responsibilities

Basic Function:
The Cost Accountant is responsible for ascertaining the cost of critical business activities that include determining the cost of each product, job, contract, process by applying accounting and costing principles, methods, and techniques.

Duties:
Develop and maintain cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization. Ascertain cost per unit of different products manufactured.
Make estimates of cost for new and proposed products. Provide Management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products.
Analyze and recommend cost saving measures.
Analyze the cost impact of any changes in products, product mix, or services.
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs and actual production costs.
Identify sources of wastage whether of material, time, or expense or in the use of machinery, equipment, and tools and to prepare such reports which may be necessary to control such wastage.
Exercise effective control of stocks of raw materials, work-in-progress, consumable stores, and finished goods in order to minimise the capital locked up in these stocks. Prepare and complete internal cost audits.

* Excellent Domain knowledge on Costing and Cost Accounting
Excellent Organizational & Analytical skills
Detail Oriented and knowledgeable on statistics
Capability of working under pressure and delivery on tight schedules.
Skills on report writing, presentation, and communication.
Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and financial reporting software. Ability to work on one’s own initiative and as part of a team.

Qualification: B. Com and ICWA Experience:
About 5 to 10 years in Cost Accounting work experience in a manufacturing environment.
