Elastic Care (www.elastic.care), a cutting-edge medical communications and IoT platform, is hiring a talented and passionate Full Stack Java Developer. This is a 100% remote position (for now) and the base location will be Pune, India. We are excited to grow our team across Canada, Europe and India in a remote environment! The ideal candidate will focus on scaling our front end and microservices components. Reporting directly to the Head of Software, you will help to execute Elastic Care’s vision of a connected healthcare ecosystem that leverages AI and the best in biometric analysis devices. Elastic Care is a subsidiary of Pathway Communications, Canada.

We’ve been featured by groups that include the TSX Group, HealthTO, Collision, and have worked with large hospital chains in India to help prioritize COVID treatment with our dashboards and monitoring systems. Our clinical trials have become a case study in how to implement ethical and safe nextgen medical systems. Our team is passionate about making a big dent in one of the world’s largest problems and opportunities – remote healthcare.

We iterate quickly and like to validate our products with real people. We believe in building products that are empathic and solve real world problems. We communicate openly and celebrate the hard and often difficult process of improvement and growth, as that is the only way to remaining relevant to our valued customers. You will have ideas on how to scale, how to quantify the qualitative aspects of the user’s workflows, and are not afraid of expressing yourself. You respect a diversity of views and approaches, and enjoy a good whiteboard session.

What You’ll Do:

  • Implement and help scale the Elastic Care web portal on Angular in Typescript
  • Implement and scale out our SpringBoot-based microservices for the mobile apps as well as web portals
  • Field user feedback and meter the usage patterns to determine where improvements are needed
  • Help to horizontally scale and partition the service stack, from the front end software reverse proxies to the databases and streaming platforms
  • Help to implement front end deep linking mechanisms involved in customer acquisition and retention
  • Track your work and help the product manager align work to the product roadmap and customer needs
  • Coordinate with your teammates and the head of product during EST hours a few times a week.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of experience on B2C products with a web presence that draws thousands of simultaneous daily users
  • 2+ years experience with SpringBoot (Java) developing full microservice stacks that communicate with databases and other downstream systems. We’d love to hear about your successes.
  • Basic knowledge of security, particularly authentication for web services, key management and crypto plugins and configs for databases like Mongo
  • 2+ years developing real-world products with Typescript-based platforms like Angular, as well as React Native and Ionic for cross-platform interfaces
  • Knowledge of the Linux stack, specifically you can set up your working environments, automate your tasks with scripts, and tie together the services.
  • Python experience is a huge asset. Bring examples.
  • Working experience with JIRA, Jenkins, GIT, Maven, UDeploy, JUnit, Mockito
  • A self-starter, organized and methodical
  • A colourful history of building products. You have experiences that taught you about customer empathy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and tenacity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in small, high growth startups is preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Ability to work during partial EST hours

A Few Reasons to Consider Us:

  • Generous paid holidays
  • 100% remote + partial office equipment reimbursement
