‘Sterlite Copper’, a unit of Vedanta Limited, is one of the leading copper producers in India. Sterlite Copper has units at Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu & Silvassa in the Unit Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Fujairah Gold at UAE. The operations includes a 4,00,000 MT per annum Copper Smelter with Refinery, Sulphuric and Phosphoric Acid plants and Copper plant at Tuticorin in Southern India and 3,00,000 MT copper Rod Plants at Silvassa in Western India. At Fujairah Gold, we operate a Continuous Cast Rod Plant with an annual capacity of 1,00,000 MT and Precious Metal Refinery with an annual capacity of 50 MT of Gold, 120 MT of Silver.

The Opportunity:

An exceptional career opportunity for innovative, committed, and forward-looking individual to create transformational value in Commercial Function

The candidate will

• Be responsible for driving the commercial portfolio for copper with key focus on developing strategies towards ensuring 100% Online buying, 100% E-Auction, KPI based contracting, Logistics Management, reduction in inventory and overall cost of production. S/he will be responsible to establish strategic alliances with business partners, vendor-based consolidation to ensure commercial and competitive advantage
• Develop the strategic plan and roadmap for commercial function including procurement, logistics and store to ensure the services are made available effectively
• Develop information systems to benchmark commercial function performance with the best- in-class companies and implement best practices
• Assist the organization by aligning the commercial strategy with business objectives
• Provide technical input in all strategic initiatives & assist in vendor selection and negotiations
• Define and manage key supplier relationship to deliver breakthrough performance in cost, service, and quality
• Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of the key business partners to ensure that they continue to deliver their best
• To build robust IT enabled commercial function with complete transparency and adherence to governance framework of the group

The Successful Applicant

• B.E/ B.Tech./MBA/CA, with 15+ years of work experience
• Experience in and good knowledge of Procurement, Logistics, Manpower Management, Vendor Management, Contracting, Communication, Coordination, Motivating Skills, Analytical skills, Change management
• Should have strong commercial acumen and sound business understanding
