The Instructional Design Specialist is responsible for working with Project Supervisors and Managers to successfully maintain and develop training programs for UPS customer care representatives globally across all business units. Standard instructional design processes, such as the ADDIE learning model, are used to design, develop, and maintain custom business process and systems training programs including classroom and virtual instructor-led, self-paced, and eLearning courses. The Specialist is responsible for working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Instructional Designers to assess information, determine impacts, and identify skills gaps. The Specialist may also need to learn and test proprietary systems and software to identify training gaps, determine scope, and maintain or create interactive learning.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in Instructional Design
    • Familiarity with ADDIE
    • Use of Style Guides
    • Use of Storyboards
  • Experience writing Instructor-led Training
  • Experience creating eLearning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to independently learn and perform complex, detailed processes

Technology Requirements:

  • Reliable internet connection for remote work (used for VPN and Zoom video calls)
  • Adobe Captivate (2017 and 2019) and/or Articulate Storyline experience
  • Microsoft Word and PowerPoint templates
  • Access to personal computer for first 2 weeks

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Instructional Design, Education, English, Organizational Development, or related field
