Department Description

The Investment solution & services provides systems development, business analysis, architecture & engineering, implementation and support services for FIL’s Investment Management, Investment Services & Fund Accounting, Business Finance and several other business groups globally. The department supports the business units catering to the entirety of FIL’s Investment Process for all asset classes in all of FIL’s international locations, including London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Mumbai.

Purpose of your role

As an Data Analyst in FIL’s ISS Technology team, you will play a key role in FIL’s global Data transformation programme working with senior business leaders, product owners and engineering teams within Fidelity International & its partners to deliver a new technology platform to support the ISS Vision & strategy roadmap. This transformation is to become data driven business supporting our growth into new businesses like systematics, quants, private markets, real estate, sustainable investments (ESG), thematic investing, multi-asset class solutions and launch of business capabilities responsible for providing programme alongside business analysts, database administrators and business project teams.

Data Analyst is a key role within the team and the successful candidate will liaise with the various business teams and systems groups to assist the application development and support from India. In addition, the Data Analyst would be expected to contribute to the development of business analysis capability in India, provide thought leadership to identify functional innovation opportunities, resolve functional issues- rationalising multiple definitions of entities/data gaps etc, impart business knowledge to the systems’ team members and contribute to the global ISS Systems community.

Key Responsibilities

Use expert knowledge of data analysis to perform- data mining-able to work with disparate data sources, data preparation-convert raw data into structured data by resolving data errors, quality issues, gaps etc and quality assured datasuitable for business use Co-ordinate with global business and technology teams to convey all necessary information related to data to ensure all validation rules are identified for quality delivery, helps in resolving any data issues for upstream/downstream and be able to get the gap/missing data fixed at source Proactive analysis of data for all possible failures/anomalies/trends/common patternscenarios before technical build out to get capture all data gaps within solution rather waiting for feedback post prod delivery Practitioner experience on analysing existing complex data landscape, simplify & create standard definitions for different subject areas aligning with industry standards Skills to cross collaborate across global stakeholders to understand the business process & data to support the same. Lead all data quality and data analysis initiatives for structured, semi-structured and un-structured data, with quick turn around for new product development Review quality of data generated by various ISS applications/business processes and automate the required checks as well as automate reporting for the same - these may include Research, Order Generation Trading, Compliance, Risk & Performance Attribution, Usage Analytics of various functions, Access Controls and Entitlement, Client and Reg reporting and Digital User engagement to support Sales & Marketing, amongst others Evangelise data and its value across the business and technology teams. Able to articulate various data flows/user journey/business process along with skills to visualise & present to various stakeholders Takes ownership of features deployed in beta/prod for any data issues, user queries and pre/post-implementation support to the systems and business teams Be the functional champion for the identified business area and build deep expertise on FIL business processes

Experience and Qualifications Required

About 10+ years experience with most of it in Financial Services and experience in Investment Management front office domain covering research, portfolio management, trading, risk, attribution, analytics etc. Data analyst with practitioner experience on analysing existing complex data landscape, simplify & create standard definitions for different subject areas aligning with industry standards B. Tech / B.E. or MBA (Finance) preferred or CFA preferred Thorough understanding of different asset classes – Equity, Fixed Income and Derivatives. Experience of working in Fixed Income - Portfolio Management, Research applications or Trading programmes Exposure to structured software development life-cycle methodology (preferably Agile or Iterative development) & Production Support processes Strong expertise in SQL writing capabilities Expert in using MS Office products like Visio and Excel Good competence with some financial database such as Bloomberg or FactSet Data Preparation & Migration (Python, SQL, Adv. Excel) Data Analysis and Visualization (Power BI, Python, Adv. Excel) Experience of working with multi-cultural teams in a geographically diverse environment Nice to have skills include

• Experience of working with 3rd party market data providers like Bloomberg, Reuters etc.
• Experience of working in data platforms
• Understanding of quantitative analysis
• Any financial certification
• Experience of Data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, will be a plus
