Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the strategic plan for the G-SEF fund, aligning with government objectives and startup ecosystem needs.

Program Design and Administration: Design and administer the fund’s programs, including designing outreach strategy for attracting good applications, capacity building, and implementation plans to support and finance startups throughout their lifecycle.

Investment Oversight: Lead the investment strategy, manage calls for applications, oversee the selection process, and decide on funding allocations.

Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with government officials, investors, industry leaders, and other key partners.

Team Management: Direct and oversee the PMU team, including Relationship Managers and Program Associates, ensuring effective execution of the program’s activities.

Monitoring and Evaluation: Oversee internal and external monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess program performance and implement continuous improvements.

Partnership Development: Cultivate partnerships with R&D institutions, industry experts, and venture capital funds to create a robust support system for startups.

Reporting and Compliance: Ensure compliance with government regulations and policies, and report program progress and outcomes to the I-START Coordinator and relevant committees.

Language Proficiency: Utilize business-level Gujarati to communicate effectively with local stakeholders and government entities.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing and operating programs and efficiently managing funds, showcasing strong financial acumen.
  • Experience working with government agencies and navigating public sector processes is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience in team management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Fluent in Gujarati and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A good understanding of the startup ecosystem and experience with incubators or accelerators are preferred.
