Scope

The Senior Web Platform Engineer is a critical resource for developing and supporting the environment underlying our web ecosystem. We are seeking a motivated, talented, and experienced technologist to work on our global Web team. This role reports to the Director of Global Marketing and Commerce platforms.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the subject matter expert across one or more technical disciplines.

• Assures the interoperability of system components with other systems where required.

• Assumes ownership and accountability for platform change and operations within our Web portfolio. Expectation to be proactive and take action without intervention when necessary. A high level of confident autonomous working will be expected.

• Operates within Xerox Governance and Security frameworks and controls

• Collaborates with Production Operations to ensure operational integrity and meet appropriate levels of service for solution

• Operational ownership for select technical platforms within the xerox.com ecosystem

• Oversight of external facing aspects of platforms, including DNS, CDN, Search, SEO

• Oversight of product catalog production and integration with xerox.com ecosystem

• Management of resource monitoring/alerting solutions

• Tier 3 and 4 support for incident escalation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

• Excellent management and communication skills - written and verbal (English)

• Ability to articulate complex problems confidently and concisely

• Operate independently with minimal supervision

Skills and Experience

• Minimum: 5-7 years of IT Experience

• Demonstrable experience with the following

• Admin level knowledge of Linux environment (RHEL experience preferred)

• Apache HTTPD including configuration of vhosts, certificates, rewrites, and reverse proxy

• Creation and management of sitemaps

• Familiarity with web security standards and practices, including investigation of security events, and short and long term remediations

• Working knowledge of DNS

• Working knowledge of SSL/TLS certificates and management, including SNI

• Working knowledge of Content Delivery Network technologies (Akamai experience preferred)

• Experience working on a geographically distributed team. GMT –8 to GMT +5:30

• Real-world experience in an agile delivery environment (Jira or Assembla preferred)
