SENIOR TEST ENGINEER

Job Description

Functional: - -Design, Develop and Execute test strategies, test scenarios and test plans for new components and help root-cause issues working with software development teams. -Responsible for maintaining framework for Automation and Performance Testing.. -Analyzing the Test Cases prepared by other team members. -Develop plans, schedules, metrics, data needs and scenarios for end to end -integration testing including areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability -Preparing Summary Reports and suggestion Documents to improve the quality of the -application. -Gather feedback for and implement continuous test improvement. -Help speed up regression cycles by identifying areas of automation opportunities. -Participate in product and feature design with developers, product managers, and business systems analysts. -Diagnose, track and manage quality issues to resolution. Leadership/ Interpersonal -Work together with team to Design, Develop and Execute test strategies, test scenarios and test plans -Helps to create a culture of openness, honesty, and transparency -Maintains a positive demeanor during periods of uncertainty, pressure, and conflict -Works to empower teams and individuals Educational Qualifications: A Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related software engineering discipline, or equivalent Experience Requirements: Must have at least 7-10 years of experience in Software Test Engineering and Quality Assurance for Big Data (Apache Spark, HIVE, Hadoop, Front-end web UI) of which 3-4+ years of experience in manual testing and automation for back-end and front-end, preferably on Linux (RHEL, CentOS or SUSE). Knowledge/Skills 5+ years of experience in designing, documenting, developing, and executing test plans and strategy for Big Data platforms (Apache Spark, HIVE, HDFS)3+ years of experience in setting up and maintaining framework for Test Automation and Performance Testing Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and Test team’s roles in different lifecycle phasesProven experience in writing automated tests in Java Strong scripting experience using PythonGood understanding of Apache Spark and Spark frameworks (e.g. Spark SQL, Spark Structured Streaming) and how to install on Linux platform (RHEL, CentOS or SUSE)Must have experience in performing quality assurance testing - functional, performance (load, stress, reliability) and regression Experience in using performance monitoring tools like Apache JMeter Have excellent hands-on experience in SELENIUM WebdriverRelevant experience in database (preferably PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle etc.) Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Chef or SaltStackStrong familiarity with Linux and its operation, configuration, file-system, networking, and security; Must know how to analyze Linux system logs for errors, issues, performance bottlenecksMust have experience creating and using RESTful APIs for enterprise applications (JSON, REST)Experience with the latest trends in cloud computing, distributed systems, web technologies and Big DataExperience in managing virtual machines for test environment, snapshot management, network administrationExperience working with Agile process (Scrum/Kanban)Must be able to multi-task with strong attention to detailPrior experience collaborating with diverse technical and non-technical teams located across multiple time-zones on client deliverables and technical supportProven communication and documentation skillsStrong analytical skills, work creatively and efficiently in troubleshooting and resolution of system issues
