The Role

The incumbent will be supporting the modelling team in implementing and maintaining MetLife Asia’s actuarial financial models on Prophet, mainly focused on the carrying out the design by the leadership. Also, the incumbent has to carry out the coding to meet internal and external requirements and overseeing the modeling activities of the countries designated to him/her.


The incumbent will also be looking after issues that arise during the model development and conversion process. This includes understanding differences between new and old models, and explaining to/resolving with local countries if possible.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring the new model will be built based on sound actuarial principles, high consistency among Asia countries and efficient system design. It is also critical to be in line with MetLife Global modeling standards;

  • Implementing Prophet model in accordance with internal and external requirements, with supports from team members;
  • Resolving difficult technical issues encountered during implementation for local countries and explaining variances observed;
  • Communicating to local countries counterparts regularly on issues arise during the project and understand the root causes of the issues;
  • Designing training materials and model documentation of the new model;
  • Working closely with local countries in designing optimal valuation processes using the new model
  • Enforcing efficient model controls and maintaining good model support after implementation


To be specific, this role will lead a small team to oversee the model development of Asia countries, such as Bangladesh, Nepal, Vietnam. When necessary, this team may need to assist in other projects such as Korea LDTI and IFRS, QA testing and production activities.
