About The Role

As a Frontend Software Engineer in our team, you’ll play a key role in helping to provide data backed analytic tools for institutional customers. The role will be part of a hybrid team of Data Scientists and Software Engineers and will contribute directly to the delivery of the Institutional Data & Analytics product roadmap. This is the perfect role for a professional who is excited to apply their technical skills to design and develop the frontend for data-intensive web application on Google Cloud Platform. You are passionate about frontend development and willing to learn and apply your knowledge to make great applications.

What Will Your Day Look Like

As a Frontend Software Engineer, you will:

• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, business analysts and product owners to deliver data insights to customers
• Pr ovide ongoing support for platforms as required e.g. problem and incident management
• Improve existing code base for best practice, security and current technology/packages
• Design and implement new patterns and procedures for frontend applications
• Participate in peer code reviews to achieve quality
  

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Demonstrated experience in frontend development using React, Html, CSS and Javascript
• Hands-on knowledge and experience connecting front end to backend APIs to create dynamic sites
• Experience in writing frontend unit tests and performing integration tests
• Knowledge of single page web applications
• Experience in effectively conveying problems, designs and solutions in a digital format (eg diagrams, tech notes, presentations etc)
• Strong understanding of troubleshooting and debugging practices for web technologies (eg HTTP, SSL, Browser)
• Exposure to micro frontend architecture
• Experience in cloud technologies (eg GCP, GKE etc)
