This Role Holder Will Be Responsible For
  • Growing SEI’s short and long-term gas sales and purchase opportunities, developing commercial, contractual and personal relationships, to facilitate the gas marketing activities and maintaining a healthy balance between capacity and marketing volumes in order to maximize revenues and terminal throughput;
  • Leading and managing the Marketing Team comprising of marketing managers and a marketing advisor;
  • Fostering a healthy culture and work environment while continuing to meet the business goals (both value and volume); and
  • Developing the competence base and commercial acumen of the team.
The Role Holder Shall
  • Provide necessary and timely steer to the team with regards to negotiations and structuring of commercial agreements and physical Transactions (LNG, Gas, Regas and Pipeline);
  • Ensure that the internal processes with respect to deals & mandate are followed and where applicable, work proactively with the relevant functions to develop or modify such processes to bring speed and simplicity in operations.
  • Develop a trading (P&L) book with regular updates of the forward pricing curve, ensuring consistency in decision making w.r.t taking long and short positions and maintaining the exposures within the mandated VAR limits.
  • Propose an appropriate hedging strategy where applicable.
  • Lead the formulation of customer/ segment specific short term and long-term marketing and pricing strategies.
  • Monitor the developments in the Upstream, Power, Refining, Fertilizers, Infrastructure and CGD businesses in India as well as global LNG markets, assess its impact on business and calibrate strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with Business Development, Commercial Operations, Power and Regulatory teams and contribute to or provide inputs where necessary for pursuing growth opportunities.
  • Represent SEI in gas and LNG industry key events in order to maintain our visibility as well as position SEI as thought leaders and trusted partners.
The Successful Applicant Has The Following
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering / Science / Commerce);
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Substantial prior experience in the gas and LNG sector and knowledge of commercial agreements viz. LNG and Gas Sales / Purchase and pipeline Transportation and Regas Services Agreements, preferred;
  • Post Graduate in Management (Commercial, Business Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering) preferred;
  • Exceptional Stakeholder management skills - external & internal relationships
  • High level of numeracy, analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand and structure complex commercial arrangements and think out of the box;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to communicate effectively and rapidly in multi-cultural global team
  • Knowledge (or Exposure) to an ETRM system preferred.
