Head of Finance Shared Services

Morningstar is looking for a Head of Finance Shared Services (“FSS”) to lead our Financial Shared Services team. As the Head of FSS you will be responsible for developing and implementing the vision of a best-in-class support function for our global finance organisation. That vision includes the ability to grow the function and broaden the scope of services to continue to provide value to our business. Key to the success of the role is the ability to set and execute the strategies that underpins the vision and looks for opportunities that drives increased automation with a goal to produce continued process improvement and operational excellence.

As a senior leader, you will lead a team of 40+ full-time professionals provide the team with the direction, guidance, mentorship and coaching that allows each member personal growth and career development opportunities.

The leader shall be responsible enriching the global relationships that enables the success of Finance Shared Services. The position reports into the Director of Finance, India, and is based in Mumbai.

Responsibilities:

• Define, communicate and lead the execution of the Shared Service vision.
• Develop and ensure the successful execution of the strategies for the various process areas and workstreams, including associated governance requirements.
• Implement global strategies to ensure standard end-to-end business processes.
• Foster an environment of innovation and continuous improvement to drive ongoing process efficiency.
• Establish appropriate service level agreements (SLA’s) with stakeholders and foster ownership across the process areas to meet or exceed the SLA’s.
• Lead and contribute to critical global projects including M&A integration activities.
• Develop & implement operational reporting KPI metrics across the key workstreams.
• Build and foster high-performance teams; build relationships with team members, business leaders and global finance functions.
• Mentor and guide the team members towards their career development goals.
• Other tasks and responsibilities that maybe reasonably required.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in leading a growing offshore finance shared service team, with demonstrated managerial capability and strong stakeholder management.
• Ability to think strategically and manage competing priorities effectively to ensure maximum benefit to the organization.
• Extensive knowledge of executing business processes including appropriate documentation and structures in governing operations.

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related disciplines is required with a Masters being beneficial.
• CA / ICWA Accounting qualification though not essential in addition to a Bachelors/Masters degree, can be considered
• A qualification in project management and / or quality systems would be advantageous.
• Strong skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Knowledge of USGAAP would be beneficial.
• Experience of six sigma would be desirable.
