Nuvolo is currently seeking a Senior Technical Engineer with strong ServiceNow and/or programming experience to join our Nuvolo DevOps Support Engineering Team. Nuvolo is an innovation company and we challenge our team to think outside the box and transform processes, technology, and frameworks in Connected Workplace and IWMS in ways previously unachievable with legacy technology.

The successful candidate will be able to quickly gain an understanding of the Nuvolo Connected Workplace Platform, built on ServiceNow. This role requires strong inter-personal and technical skills. The Senior DevOps Support Engineer must be able to work outside of normal business hours including evening and holiday shifts as well as occasional weekend on-call rotation. As such, the ideal candidate must have experience clearly explaining solutions to complex problems and demonstrate the ability to lead and impart knowledge effectively to junior resources.

As a Senior Technical Engineer, your role will include:

  • Demonstrating ability to troubleshoot difficult technical issues.
  • Managing and resolving the most challenging issues for Nuvolos DevOps support team on behalf of our clients and partners
  • Specific activities include but are not limited to the following:
    • Ticket support troubleshooting and resolution - 60%
    • Development - 30%
    • Client Management - 10%
  • Must be able to work outside of normal business hours, including shifts on evenings and holidays as well as rotation for occasional on-call weekend schedule
  • Responsible for mentoring and teaching the existing team members.
  • Ability to train junior resources on new product features or releases.
  • Strong personal commitment to quality and customer service

This role could be a fit for you if you bring:

  • 4+ years working in a ServiceNow platform and/or scripting experience
  • A fundamental understanding of ITSM, ITIL or CMDB
  • Experience diagnosing performance degradation
  • Experience writing or debugging object-oriented code - Java preferred
  • Experience in one or more scripting languages - JavaScript, Python, Perl, Unix Shell or Windows
  • Experience administering Linux, Unix or Microsoft Server
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working with web technologies (JAVA Script, XML, HTML, AJAX, CSS & HTTP)
  • Experience with IT service management process and tool configuration and administration
  • Expert level knowledge in ServiceNow scripting and web technologies including XML, HTML, JAVA Script, AJAX, CSS, and HTTP/S
  • Must have experience installing, implementing, or maintaining one (or more) of the following:
    • LDAP or active directory
    • Email infrastructure
    • Data extraction technologies (e.g. JDBC, ODBC)
    • Any bidirectional, automated integration between two systems
  • Working knowledge of the components in a web applications stack
  • Strong Understanding of scoped application development methodologies.
  • ServiceNow programming and analysis, Server and client-side scripting, Graphical workflow, Service catalog and catalog scripting, Reference qualifiers and dependent fields
  • Table and field manipulation, Developing email notifications
  • Managing import sets, Building transform maps
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical systems
  • Proven ability to maintain a professional demeanor when handling complex user issues
