Resonance is seeking candidates to serve as Mid-level Inclusive Agriculture Coordinator for Investing in Women to Strengthen Supply Chains: A Global Development Alliance (GDA) between PepsiCo and USAID. The GDA will run from 2020-2025 and will focus on strengthening the business case for inclusive agriculture in four target countries: India, Pakistan, and Vietnam. The GDA will support interventions that empower and create opportunities for women on and off-farm within PepsiCo agricultural supply chains. It will leverage PepsiCo’s demonstration farms, which are sites where PepsiCo agronomists showcase and train farmers on good agricultural practices and technology to improve production.

By featuring interventions that consider the unique needs, priorities, skills, and knowledge of women farmers, laborers, and entrepreneurs, PepsiCo will be able to strengthen women’s agricultural capacity, demonstrate the importance of women’s roles within their potato supply chains, and leverage women’s contributions to achieve core business and sustainability goals. Additionally, the partnership co-invests with women farmer groups, women-led businesses, and other supply chain actors whose approaches overcome barriers to women’s economic empowerment, such as: addressing unpaid care work burdens, reducing women’s time poverty, increasing access to technical skills and technologies, improving access to - and control over - land and natural resources and challenging harmful gender norms.

Position Description:

The position will be based in Agra, Uttar Pradesh and will report to the Country Manager - India. The Inclusive Agriculture Coordinator will provide critical technical expertise and support the partnership team’s implementation of country-level activities. With support from the GDA Global Gender Advisor, the Coordinator will provide technical assistance to farmers in gender norms and agricultural production with an emphasis on supporting gender-inclusive demonstration farm technology and practice transfer. The Coordinator will also assess gender lens grant applications, work with local suppliers receiving grants to ensure funds are leveraged to economically empower women and integrate gender-equitable activities into agribusiness operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities that build on the results of 2021 Supply Chain and Gender Assessment
  • Coordinate gender norms change activities with PepsiCo contract holders, indirect suppliers and laborers, and the broader supplier community.
  • Facilitate workplace and community dialogues around women’s empowerment, positive masculinities and other gender-related topics.

  • Support grant facility implementation, including identifying new farmer groups and stakeholders as potential grantees; lead logistics for grant program events and capacity building workshops; support grantee monitoring and data collection, outreach events, and grantee due diligence
  • Coordinate with the project’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) staff to carry out monitoring and evaluation efforts as needed including data collection as it relates specifically to measuring women’s economic empowerment.
  • Support the design and review of the annual work plan and milestones in collaboration with the Resonance, ICRW, USAID, and PepsiCo teams.
  • Provide Resonance with quarterly and periodic inputs for project reporting.
  • Conduct relevant gender-informed analysis, assessments, and evaluations to determine potential impacts on gender relations and equity of programmatic work related to program-specific initiatives, plans, and/or problems.
