JOB DESCRIPTION

1, PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Responsible for analyzing and reconciling accounts, generating reports, preparing returns and correspondence, and conducting special accounting projects as required, working within the limits of the established policy. Will be responsible for analyzing various financial data including collecting, monitoring, and studying source data; and recommending appropriate actions. Establishes own standards of performance with direct accountability for final results.

3, KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Accountabilities Scope of work


  • Processing
  • Maintains financial records by reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
  • Review and Posting adjusting journal entries as directed;
  • Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to general ledger accounts
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts;
  • Analyze designated accounts and business units to ensure that transactions have been accurately coded and recorded and to identify, investigate, resolve or report on activity that may be unexpected;
  • Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling allocated accounts and control accounts; adjusting entries for impairment, amortizations & prepaid;
  • Support the department and the organization through research, investigation and resolution of defined issues and problem solving with internal and external customers;
  • Prepare any range of recurring reports, gather, extract data from accounting and database systems, analyze and present data to company’s management;
  • Prepare multi-state sales tax and tangible property tax returns and correspondence with various taxing authorities;
  • Inventory management; data entry and analysis;
  • Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements; Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies;
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines;
  • Provide administrative support including the preparation of spreadsheets;
  • Perform any range of special accounting projects as required;
  • Ensuring high quality of service delivery and managing all Service levels agreed with stakeholders wrt turnaround and quality parameters
  • Coordination with business and stakeholders in NA for month end close and other activities including timely submission of accruals
  • Perform end of month procedures and provide reports/documentation as necessary
  • Support External and Internal Audit including Statutory, Tax, Indirect Tax etc
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Training and development
  • Taking active participation in the training program during migration of processes and ensuring management of Standard operating procedures ensuring preparation and updates as per scheduled timings.
  • Participate in Corporate training and development programs on a regular basis as assigned or self-nominated
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

  • Issue Resolution
  • Ensuring issue resolution working closely with Local Finance and business groups to ensure accruals, control accounts, aged reconciling items, intercompany balances etc are cleared as per policy and standard operating procedures
  • Track all control and balance sheet accounts that have issues, and proactively report and resolve

  • Continuous Improvement
  • Participating in ideation process within the organization and ensuring processes are consistently improved by bring in fresh perspective and improving efficiencies
