Manager, Business Development

Summary:

Located at Jamshedpur, Business Development (Metals) is responsible for developing new customers, applications, promoting Global products, Project activity to drive aggressive growth in revenue and profitability of the Organization.

Penetrates and develops new accounts while maintaining existing business and integrating product/process and application knowledge into a Metals Industry (Steel & Aluminium).

Maintains highest level of knowledge possible of Company’s products, their applications, services and policies. Services all customers within the assigned territory. Provides Company management with market information and competitive update. Maintains cognizance of all market influences. Operates within assigned budget.

The position reports to the General Manager (Sales). Direct contact with the Product/Market Managers, Customer Service Representatives, and Application Engineers. A key aspect of the job is New product, application and business development at Steel and Aluminium plants countrywide.

Responsibilities: (List of essential responsibilities.)

The incumbent is expected to perform the duties living the Unifrax Values of Safety, Ethics, People, Commitment, Customer Focus, Innovation, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork, and Speed and Agility.

Sell Company’s products (new and existing). Develop and execute strategic business plan to drive growth in revenue and profitability. Research, test, and launch creative strategies and plans to identify new application, product development opportunities to expand the business Own all aspects of product management including Price, Volume, Margin, Portfolio development. Provide market and competitive intelligence to field sales and Managers through market research, trend analysis, and other data mining methodologies and resources. . Lead cross function integration across field sales and marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, product development & engineering. Own all aspects of key new product development initiative including portfolio development, manufacturing execution, quality, pipeline development, revenue, margin and EBITDA. Develops and meets budgeted financial goals. Advise Company management of significant market information. Report new product ideas. Identifying and negotiating with Local Contractors for evaluation of competitive Site execution cost.

Qualifications:

Bachelor in Engineering (Ceramic, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Chemical) discipline is required; MBA desired. In addition to formal education, the candidates that have undergone on the job hands-on Sales Training (Sandler, Simplilearn, CRSinfo, Koeng) shall be given a preference. Minimum 8-10 years of experience in refractory application, business development in Integrated Steel Plants. Experience in Refractory / Insulation industry is must. Knowledge of Refractory and metallurgical industry and business Strong Sales and Marketing Management skills Working knowledge of Refractory and Insulation Sound understanding of codes and standard practices of the industry Good commercial knowledge Sound Computer Skills - Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint Good Presentation capability. Good communication skills Problem Solving skills Relationship Management Skills
