Kennedys is looking for an enthusiastic and diligent Database Reporting Analyst to join the Kennedys IQ team in Kerala. The successful candidate will work as part of the Development team based in Kerala and UK. We are looking for someone who can work closely with our internal Product and Commercial stakeholders to analyse and understand their reporting needs and then develop the necessary datasets, views and processes to build the reports.

You should be a team player with plenty of ideas, a passion for data, willingness to learn new things and acquire complete understanding of all domain data and be a source of knowledge for others.For more complex requirements the role may need to write up a summary of the requirements and the potential solutions prior to development.

You will be working as part of a large team with Database Architects, Product Managers, Developers and Administrators to build new datasets when required and also for means of delivery to internal and external clients. You will also be involved in helping to resolve issues by testing the reports and solutions prior to deployment to guarantee data accuracy, coming up with an eye-catching visualisation to understand a complex set of data and establishing best practice in your line of work.

Team

The KennedysIQ team are responsible for the development of the IQ Platform, anonline applicationdesigned to facilitate the insuranceclaims process using a combination of intelligent data capture, workflow augmented with legal expertise, as well asanalytics includingmachine learningand natural language processing. We aim to lead the market across the globe at the intersection of technology, insurance and law. Pipeline projects includeground breaking innovationwork where we lead consortia of leading data science practitioners, global insurers and world leadinguniversities workingalongside our own growing data science function to solve some of the biggest problems in the insurance industry today.

The team is spread across many locations London, Chelmsford, Manchester and Kerala. This position will be based in Kerala with flexibility to work from other locations or home from time to time based on agreement with the development manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Working under the direction of the company’s Head of Engineering, Product Managers and Database Architects to develop IQ Platform products and features.
• Maintaining and developing skills in database and development technologies currently used by the firm, particularly SQL Server. Main emphasis should be on the reporting needs for the clients.
• Experience of development of warehouse with its various stages:
• Requirements capture.
• Definition and design
• Data quality analysis
• Dimensional modelling
• ETL
• Data presentation to end users.
• Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks and proposing and implementing methods to optimise performance.
• Setting up monitoring thresholds and alerts to achieve a fix before failure.
• Performing appropriate pre-release testing of database developments
• Advising test staff
• Documentation of database administration and maintenance tasks such that they can be performed by other team members if required.
• Assist development and support staff, sometimes out of hours, with application releases and system upgrades.
• 3rd line support, including diagnoses and resolution of database issues, faults and rectification.
