Reporting to:Director, Kids Education Revolution

Kids Education Revolution is a project that sits under the Innovation Cell at Teach For India. It was established in 2017 with the pursuit of reimagining educationWITHchildren, not just within TFI’s program and classrooms, but also beyond TFI to explore the possibility of scaling principles that challenge the traditional education system. KER aims to learn and spread out constantly evolving & growing understanding of an excellent education.

The Phase 4 vision for the Kids Education Revolution is to build a movement of more than 20,000 student leaderswho will reimagine education in partnership with their educators and a movement of 2 million people who will advocate and act collectively for educational equity, in partnership with other teams at Teach for India.

The Manager, Learning and Partnerships is a dynamic role that is crucial in driving Kids Education Revolution’s research and partnership efforts. The role would entail spearheading the KER Learning Loop Program, an attempt to capture and amplify the transformational stories of student leaders and their projects of changemaking. Additionally, this role would encompass strong relationship building and innovative initiative towards identifying collaborative opportunities, driving a reimagined education, and engaging a community of champions towards KER’s vision. This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys storytelling, research and working with a diverse group of people from around the world.

As a Manager, Learning and Partnership, you will be expected to:

Deepen KER’s understanding of a reimagined education -
  • By spearheading the Learning Loop Program which includes, but is not limited to:
  • Identifying, capturing and learning from the strongest student leaders across the world to deepen our understanding of student leadership and excellent education
  • Facilitating spaces for diverse individuals - students and educators within and beyond Teach for India to dialogue about what enables leadership in students
  • Designing a report that captures our learnings from the stories and discussions through the year
  • Working closely with the Training and Impact Team and the 8 Regions at Teach For India to design learning days to invest program staff, Fellows, students and other stakeholders in the idea of student agency and leadership.
  • By designing and executing the KER Learning Yatra, a one of a kind journey to explore the 3 KER principles, 8Cs and their role in reimagining education. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Identifying and partnering with educators from diverse schools and organizations as well as KER’s partner organizations and Teach for India Regions to form the Learning Yatra cohort for 2022-23.
  • Designing the scope & sequence as well as the content of the Learning Yatra program conducted through the year
  • Performing end-to-end project management, maintaining a documentation plan, and conducting seamless monitoring and evaluation in service of the Learning Yatra outcomes.

Amplify KER’s vision and mission by building a community of champions
  • Designing a log frame for the year with SMART goals towards amplifying KER’s 3 Principles and 8Cs and growing the existing KER Community.
  • Collaborating with and investing in KER Partners by designing creative interventions that will help in advancing KER’s phase 4 goals.
  • Identifying and cultivating partnerships with diverse innovative initiatives in education across the world

As a People Manager

  • Building a robust pipeline of talent to lead the organization
  • Managing and coachingthe Directors in the cluster to ambitious outcomes
  • Driving engagement, growth, and retention of team members
  • Engineering and overseeing a monitoring and evaluation system, coupled with strategic direction, to guide our abilities to continuously improve

As a Manager at Teach For India

  • Contributing to the team goals and priorities beyond individual goals and priorities
  • Serving as an ambassador of the Teach For India brand and an advocate for our work and for educational equity in our country through both internal and external communication after commiting time in our classrooms to understand our work more deeply
  • Supporting with key organizational areas such as Recruitment, Selection, Fundraising, Volunteering, Movement Building

Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations

  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in education, with an interest in building partnerships and learning
  • Experience in driving high impact and operations in high pressure, goal driven environments
  • Experience of having collaborated effectively with a broad range of individuals and groups and strong partnership management skills
  • Experiences and examples of having taken initiative in the past
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Orientation towards innovation (openness, risk taking, embracing failure) and scale (strategic thinking, identification of key levers, making bets)
  • Entrepreneurial attitude: working independently while also being a team player
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, and Google Apps
  • Strong work ethic and sense of possibility
