Roles and Responsibilities

1. Report to the COO and lead a team of two assistant managers and other staff in achieving the targeted department objectives.

2. Responsible for formulating a plan for managing the company’s overall purchase, supply chain and logistics strategy and operations.

3. Responsible for assessing, developing, and refining the overall planning, procurement, warehousing, distribution and logistics skill set in the organization.

4. Maximising efficiency and cost optimization in the supply chain, and improving accuracy and results through a collaborative approach with vendors.

5. Implementing latest best practices in regard to technology, inventory and demand management across the supply chain vertical

6. Devise and execute key purchase and procurement strategies, contingency plans and ensuring that they are aligned with various purchase requirements.

7. Identify and develop vendors, liaise for rate contracts and manage supplier activities to ensure meeting of service, cost, delivery and quality norms.

8. Prepare a RM plan to facilitate procurement decisions and control material flow to meet production demand schedules and sales forecast.

9. Float purchase enquiries to vendors, RFQs, and finalize PO through a comparative Price Analysis and other pre determined criteria.

10. Handle the Purchase of materials such as yarn, fabric, PVC resins, chemicals, adhesives, foils and mechanical items

11. Proactively identify and mitigate risks at all stages of the Procurement cycle that could adversely impact the continuity of supply.

12. Provide weekly/monthly trend analysis, MIS reports, dashboards and ensure their circulation to all internal stakeholders

13. Establish and maintain a classified database for all key items and vendors for immediate access

14. Monitor slow moving or redundant stock and scrap and arrange for it to be suitably disposed.

15. Keep up to date with trends and innovations, regulation and new technology that can impact on the business


Desired Candidate Profile

Applicants should be aged 32 - 40 years with a degree in Chemical / Textile Engineering or Polymer Science with post graduate qualification in Supply Chain / Material Management with 10 15 years work experience. They should have worked in a large volume multi product manufacturing company preferably from the Coating, Plastic, Textile, Lamination or Chemical industries and presently functioning as the SCM head of a mid size company. Knowledge of GST and SAP are desirable skills
