This is a Research & Development Engineer role, reporting to the Team Manager in business area Process Automation located in Bangalore. You will be working at Ability Innovation Center (AIC), home to the largest technology and engineering pool in ABB globally and is a part of ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited, a subsidiary of ABB. It is based in Bangalore, the silicon-valley of India. Its unique infrastructure places research, development, engineering, and service teams under one roof, increasing collaboration and reducing time to market, with no compromise on quality.

Your responsibilities

• Work with cutting edge web technologies to revolutionize the DCS (Distributed Control Systems) market.
• Develop next generation technology for Distributed Control Systems as part of a global strategic project for over several countries such as Sweden, Italy, China and build innovative solutions for industrial customers.
• Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
• Improve existing software quality by identifying issues and common patterns, and develop standard operating procedures.
• Maintain and improve existing codebases and peer review code changes. Follow the software development lifecycle models like SAFe Agile, SCRUM etc.
• Demonstrate solutions by modeling documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
• Improve code quality by conducting code analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
• Develop knowledge and skills by participating in various training and certifications programs and apply the knowledge acquired in the day to day process.

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience.
• Strong expertise in HTML5, Type Script, CSS, JavaScript.
• Candidate must have experience with one of the Front-End Libraries such as ReactJS (Preferable) or Angular or Blazor.Net Core.
• Proficient in C# fundamentals and advance features or coding guidelines, ASP .Net Web API strong programming fundamentals and technical aptitude, design patterns, Micro Front end Architecture.
• Experience in working with D3 JS or High Chart library, Entity Framework Core (Databases), Azure deployment, Service fabric and Kubernetes will be an added advantage.
