Job Description Description Responsible for locomotive maintenance & shop operations of a world-class Locomotive Service Shop to meet business metrics & customer expectations. Provide leadership and operational guidance during the ramp-up phase to ensure the Service Shop is ready to handle locomotives per contractual milestones. Build a strong team of various operations staff. Implement the maintenance operations playbook and drive a culture of quality, cost and safety amongst the workforce. Drive key operational & team success and support overall business profitability. Key responsibilities include Establish a vision for maintenance operations framework for Service Shop incorporating lean principles and Wabtec SmartShop philosophy Set strategic direction for planning and scheduling work orders based on predictive, scheduled & unscheduled loco maintenance activities Hire & grow a world class, highly competent technical team with high levels of passion, determination & achievement. Create efficient labor force deployment plans across COEs and shifts structure teams of technical labor force based on volume forecasts & types of repair/maintenance. Setup & drive customer facing process for reconciling metrics & reports on a weekly/monthly basis. Interface with divisional stakeholders of the customer. Embrace Lean & Digital tools, drive continuous improvement projects around cycle time snad cost reduction. Implement Wabtec SmartShop techniques. Encourage and support EHS, Quality efforts to drive a culture of safety & quality. Stay compliance with local regulations and specific customer safety policies. Exhibit outstanding leadership and effectively communicate well with all levels of the organization including senior leadership. Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree and 12 years of services and/or manufacturing operations, preferably in a global company Demonstrated leadership in driving change in a matrixed environment Ability to successfully motivate and maintain employee involvement while driving change Prior experience of setting up operations for a large greenfield/brownfield facility. Hands on experience in implementing Quality systems & mythologies Desired Characteristics Boundary less thinker MBA or Masters degree Lean Manufacturing Experience Certified Six Sigma Black Belt Ability to build & manage relationships with customers
