Title: Specialist - Product Engineering (Network)

Job Purpose Statement

The role is expected to deliver Simplified and Consistent Services offerings that provide an outstanding customer experience which is critical to SGAS business. The Network Specialist will closely collaborate with the Technical Architect and Team to design and develop workflows and other application automation around Network Services. This role is expected to mentor the team members, collaborate with them on any blockers, developers. Should be able to help on platform issues too. Will have a responsibility to fix, support on the production issues.

Key Responsibilities

To apply standard development practices like Test Driven Development, Code Reviews, modular and reusable code, secure coding practices to ensure that the code meets all requirements around quality and security.

Participate in Design, develop and deploy a Cloud scale SDN and SD-WAN solution.

Assisting the team in troubleshooting non-production and production issues related to the Solution/Service. Experience with network troubleshooting and telemetry tools

Create a microservices by analyzing user requirements, envisioning system features and functionality,

Provide input on design discussions and participate on creating vendor agnostic network, products, and services.

Provide solutions and automation on developing new features.

Drive “Proof of Concepts” and Investigation tasks for better solutions

Technical Competencies (Experience and Knowledge)

Minimum 6-8 years of experience in SDN, Datacenter, Vmware Automation, vCD, vRO Javascript, ACI.

Technical Competencies (Experience and Knowledge)

Example – Management of Accounting practice up to Trail Balance.

Strong programming skills in Javascript, Python etc.

Experience in modelling, designing, and building easy to use Network designs.

Software Developer with an agile development background.

Understanding of Microservices architecture and design principles

Experience in working with RESTful API’s.

Excellent knowledge of NSX-T, Datacenter, VMware.

Automation : Shell Scripting, PowerShell, JavaScript.

vCD, vRO knowledge, hands-on experience.

VMware Terraform modules

Design, develop and deploy a Cloud scale SDN and SD-WAN solution

Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and unit testing to deliver high quality Software components.

Experience with Agile development methodology.

CCNA/CCNP certification

Service provider experience highly desired

Knowledge of Design Patterns.

Experience using CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins) and DevOps for deployment automation.
