Actuarial Technician

Job Purpose :To provide technical and business development support in actuarial & risk consulting and for MPI

Job Role

Business Development

  • Provide measured and well thought-through input to project team
  • Assist the team’s business development and marketing activities
  • Maintain actuarial team client database and CRM
  • Customer Relationship Management activities including follow-up responsibilities after events and mailings
  • Carry out company research
  • Develop an effective method to share this across team
  • Design surveys and actuarial literature and perform analysis

Business MI

  • Implement analytic procedures to monitor team performance

Person Specification

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Financial or numerate degree (2:1 or above)
  • Some experience within insurance industry (e.g. product knowledge, commercial & industry awareness) desirable but not essential
  • Business development marketing experience within insurance industry desirable but not essential
  • Would suit a self-starter with drive, ambition and a desire to help grow the business

Technical skills

  • Excel skills (including VBA) essential
  • PowerPoint skills essential
  • Database development skills preferred
  • Social media / web or desktop publishing experience ideal

Personal Development

  • Develop own skills through e-learning / on-the-job training
  • Develop project management skills / time management skills
