THE ROLE: Associate Scientist - Anode

Job Description

You will be joining a hardworking team of world-class scientists (Ph.D.’s) and engineers passionate about innovation, work ethics, and healthy collaboration. Our team is committed to excellence in work and diversity. We strive to foster an environment of open communication and continuous improvement.

We are looking for a high-energy, creative, and ambitious technician to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Deep understanding of scientific literature on lithium-ion batteries.
• Propose research strategies and design effective experimental plans.
• Prepare aqueous and non-aqueous slurries with different compositions to enhance lithium-ion cell cyclability, safety, and reliability that meet GODI’s requirements.
• Fabricate battery components and assemble coin/cylindrical cells for testing.
• Perform electrochemical and physical characterization experiments.
• Analyze and discuss the results with the team.
• Failure analysis of materials/cells.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in a scientific or engineering field (e.g., materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline) with 1-2 years’ relative experience.
• Experience in wet chemical synthesis methods.
• Assembling coin/cylindrical cells for testing.
• Working knowledge of battery fundamentals and operation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Has a do-whatever-it-takes attitude, thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment, and is capable of delivering project deliverables on time.

COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and write detailed project specifications, reports, procedures, manuals, and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, partners, customers, and other employees of the organization.

OTHER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have sound knowledge of Internet software, Microsoft product Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
