Exp: 3-6 years; The objectives of the project Reducing OPP Expenditure on drugs in Public Facilities of Odisha through supply & demand side improvement are to 1) Study the structure, functions and processes of drugs procurement and distribution across health care institutions 2) Assess availability of essential drugs and prescription practices including, prescription from essential drug list, whether prescribing out for medicines to be bought from private pharmacies, branded or generic name prescribed, 3) Identify reasons behind non-availability of drugs at primary care level by analyzing the policy and practices related to drug supply chain management 4) Assessment of facilitators and barriers related to the acceptance, challenges and perception of patients and providers about medicines The main activity include developing tool, collection of qualitative and quantitative data, data collection, data analysis, report writing, dissemination through journal publications, reports and workshops. Deliverables Study the functions of Odisha State Medical Corporation (OSMCL) and prepare a document comparing supply chain management (SCM) system and practices of Odisha with other states Make extensive literature review on prescription practices of primary care physicians Develop a framework for analysis of prescriptions collected from primary and secondary level of care Collect data regarding drugs stock positions at district level and below Analyze the secondary data on stock positions and stock outs of drugs at different levels of care Analyze the prescriptions based on generic, branded and according to various compositions Consult with state and district level officials and other stakeholders time to time Responsible for assisting the team lead in day to-day operations and coordination of different activities related to the project. Required to travel within the state Continuous Liaison with Govt. Departments and Maintaining Liaison with other stakeholders Writing project reports & research outputs Any other tasks assigned by Supervisor/PI. Qualification Desirable Masters in Public Health (MPH) OR Masters in Pharmacy / Post Graduate in Public Health Management with UG/PG in Pharmacy Experience Desirable Around 3 years of work experience in health systems and supply chain management issues. Fresher with relevant public health experience and relevant education background can also apply. Extensive theoretical and applied knowledge in Public health and good communication skills Studies on drugs will be preferred. Strong quantitative skills, writing & presentation skills Experience in STATA or any other statistical package
