Medi-Caps University is looking for a suitable candidate for the position of Dean of Academic Affairs -

Educational Qualifications & Experience:

(i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the any discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.

(ii) A minimum of 15 years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.

(iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process.

(iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in UGC guidelines.

B. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

KRA of Dean of Academic Affairs -

1 Curriculum Development and Review:

  • Overseeing the development and review of academic programs and courses.
  • Ensuring that curriculum aligns with industry trends, accreditation standards, and meets the needs of students.

2 Quality Assurance:

  • Implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes for academic programs.
  • Monitoring and enhancing the effectiveness of teaching and learning methods.

3 Faculty Development and Management:

  • Supporting professional development opportunities for faculty to enhance their teaching and research skills.

4 Student Success:

  • Developing and implementing initiatives to enhance student success, including academic support services.
  • Monitoring and addressing student retention and graduation rates.

5 Accreditation Compliance:

  • Ensuring that academic programs meet accreditation standards and requirements.
  • Preparing for and participating in accreditation processes.

6 Research and Publications:

  • Encouraging and supporting faculty research and scholarly activities.
  • Promoting the publication of research findings in reputable journals.

7 Budget Management:

  • Managing the academic budget effectively, allocating resources to support academic priorities.
  • Seeking and managing external funding for academic initiatives.

8 Collaboration with Other Departments:

  • Collaborating with other administrative units, such as admissions, student affairs, and finance, to ensure smooth operations and alignment of goals.

9 Technology Integration:

  • Promoting the effective use of technology in teaching and learning.
  • Overseeing the implementation of technology solutions that enhance academic processes.

10 Community Engagement:

  • Building relationships with the local community, industry partners, and other educational institutions.
  • Facilitating community engagement initiatives and partnerships.

11 Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Developing and implementing academic policies in alignment with institutional goals and regulations.

12 Crisis Management:

  • Responding effectively to academic crises and implementing contingency plans when necessary.
