Job Description and Qualifications

II. POSITION SUMMARY

To deliver safe, fit for purpose civil / structural drawings to an agreed schedule to meet a pre agreed budget.

III. NATURE AND SCOPE

The job holder is one of the key members of the design team having responsibility for the civil and structural analysis & design. Based on the execution strategy the job holder will be responsible for civil and structural analysis & design on projects

IV. DIMENSIONS:
  • Responsible for 4000 to 6000 C&S analysis and design project man-hours pa.
  • Responsible for review of Vendor documents, Interdisciplinary check (IDC) documents.
  • A C&S Engineer acts as the technical interface with AP project execution teams for C & S designs. The primary purpose is the delivery of a safe, fit for purpose plant design including analysis to an agreed schedule and budget.

V. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Safety and rigorous adherence to relevant specifications and standards for all C&S designs.
  • Accountable for the engineering scope adherence in accordance with project specifications & standards.
  • Implementation of quality procedures.
  • C&S review / check necessary for project execution .
  • Analysis & Design of equipment foundations like compressors, pumps, static & dynamic equipment, storage tanks, cooling tower basin & sump etc.
  • Other civil designs - civil pipe supports, water tanks, misc foundations
  • Steel structure designs - technological structures, pipe racks, platforms, ladders etc.
  • Experience of modular steel structures is desirable including lifting and shipping analysis.
      • Effectively communicate by email, .ppt or ‘face to face’ AP’s execution strategies, schedule issues and project requirements

VI . MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • An Engineering Degree (or equivalent) and work experience of 6-10 years.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills
  • Experience of working on industrial plants.
  • Must be familiar with an engineering organization, the function of each discipline and how they interact and the function of the various support groups globally.
  • Experienced working to Indian and global codes, preferably US & Euro codes
  • Experienced working with software such as Staad pro, MAT-3D,Foundation 3D and capable of manual design by using spread sheet program.
  • Experienced designing large foundations considering seismic and dynamic factors.
  • Experience of designing equipment foundations like compressors, pumps, pressure vessels, cooling towers, storage tanks etc
  • Experience in designing steel structures like pipe racks, technological structures, compressor sheds, platforms etc.

BE / B. Tech or ME / M.Tech in Civil Structural Engineering with overall experience of 8 to 10 years.

  • Execution experience of Oil & Gas and Refinery projects

  • Experience in FEED or Basic Engineering will be an added advantage

  • Able to work independently without supervision and can able to work as part of team.

  • Experiance handeling team of 3-4 engineers and designers as a area responsible engineer / supervisor

  • Interdisciplinary knowledge and Interface management with other engineering disciplines

  • Experience in
    • structural modularizationability to perform sea transportation, land transportation, lifting analysis for pipe rack and process modules.

  • Experience in Global projects e.g. Saudi Arabia, Canada & US and Knowledge of Global Codes and Standards (American, European, British, Indian, Russian)

  • Able to co-ordinate and work with global partners and subcontractors

  • Handle a team of engineers and able to guide them

  • Software tools: STAAD pro, MAT 3D, Foundation 3D, RAM connections

  • Software experience in
    • SAFE & ETABS would be an added advantage
