Exp: 15-18 years; The SCM Head will be responsible for developing the strategy for the SCM function at MGD in alignment with overall business strategy and organizational priorities. The SCM Head will oversee the functioning of the SCM function viz. supply planning, order, stock & vendor management Primary Responsibilities Strategy & Planning Develop the Supply Chain Management strategy in partnership with GED & Head Manufacturing & SCM in line with MGD business strategy Advice the GED & Head Manufacturing & SCM with respect to budget proposals for SCM units across India business Oversee inventory forecasts and supply plans to estimate and fulfil the product demands by collecting relevant inputs from stakeholders (Retail, marketing, merchandising etc.) Monitor Planned vs Actual inventory and supply chain costs across all SCM units Spearhead the development and deployment of Policies, Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures across SCM operations (including vendor mang) Liaison with the supply planning head and regional SCM heads to identify and drive standardization in SCM operations across regions Functional Continuously monitor key SCM metrics (such as costs, timely dispatch and delivery, timely procurement etc.) to maintain smooth business operations Actively look out for opportunities to optimize production, inventory and procedures in order to improve efficiency Monitor overall processes and efficiencies associated with SCM processes, to determine the profitability of operations Select logistics partners and other third-party service providers to maintain a high quality service at manageable cost Define vendor management processes and monitor adherence to the same so that quality and cost are balanced Build and maintain relationships with key vendors to develop mutually benefiting working relations Keep track of industry best practices and stay up to date on available technologies to use them when appropriate in order to improve efficiency Monitor historic inventory data and analyse available data with the help of the analytics dashboard to improve on inventory norms Review and sign off on special projects that are within the allocated budget to improve the SCM units Resolve any escalations from stores or regions to maintain smooth operations Define SOPs and conduct periodic reviews to monitor compliance to the same Monitor compliance to all statutory requirements such as applying and update of licenses Oversee the preventive and predictive maintenance of all machines across SCMs Review and sign off on AMCs and insurance deals with vendors across all SCM units Manage dead stock and monitor the aged stock across all SCMs to reduce any costs such as inventory carrying costs Team Development Review and sign off on manpower needs across SCM units Communicate job expectations to the team; plan, monitor, appraise and review job contributions in a regular manner Confer with team members to discuss issues, coordinate activities or resolve problems to facilitate execution excellence Monitor team performance on a continuous basis to identify and develop high performers so as to motivate them, and coach low performers Contribute towards development of talent for the department by providing direct reports with adequate exposure and growth opportunities
