The Position:

Reporting to the Global Director of People & Culture and the Managing Director, we are looking for a highly motivated, adaptable and people driven HR Manager to join our team in India. They will assist management and employees to maintain good relations. You will help people communicate with each other effectively, keep records about employees while helping Managers decide when to make reprimands, employee terminations, pay raises, or awards, and make sure that employees are treated fairly. The HR Manager will control the operations of human resources or personnel departments, hire and train team members, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and other regulations. You will lead all required committees to ensure compliance and be a champion of employee engagement. Other duties include developing human resources programs, policies, and procedures; resolving disputes in the workplace; and developing training for employees. As an HR Manager, you will encourage everyone to work together and get along well with each other, improving the business’ reputation as a good place to work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work cohesively with the leadership team members
  • Design and implement company policies that promote a healthy work environment
  • Develop compensation and benefits plans
  • Support and suggest improvements to the entire recruitment process
  • Host in-house recruitment events when applicable
  • Discuss employees’ career development paths with managers
  • Monitor HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates and cost-per-hire)
  • Review departmental budgets
  • Organize learning and development programs
  • Ensure HR staff addresses employees’ requests and grievances in a timely manner
  • Maintain HR procedures that comply with labor regulations
  • Developing programs to increase morale, such as bonuses or top performer rewards
  • Training new employees and working with department heads to create training programs
  • Reviewing performance evaluations and other reports
  • Helping Managers decide on salaries to offer to new hires
  • Preparing contracts, termination agreements and other required documents
  • Answering questions from employees, and recording and investigating complaints when needed
  • Keeping track of employee files and any required sensitive information
  • Lead/Organize all required committee meetings (Grievance/POSH)
  • Liase with leadership to champion all Health & Safety requirements
  • Aid and assist in audits where necessary

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or a similar field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Good Microsoft Office and/or Google Drive software skills
  • Good English verbal and written
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience working with western clients/brands considered an asset
  • Leadership skills
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Understanding of the products or services the business provides and their industry overall
  • Thorough knowledge of employment laws
  • Understanding of factory audit process such as (SMETA) would be an asset
  • Understanding of EHS responsibilities would be an asset
  • Ability to keep track of a variety of details
  • Ability to analyze and interpret employee surveys
