仕事内容

IT Engineer to work in a fast growing accounting practice.

You need to be a confident communicator, have great inter personal skills and

possess excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.

You will be working with a team of 2nd and 3rd line support.

You will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, supporting, developing and,

in some cases, designing communication networks within our organisation or

between our organisations.

The company uses various accounting, payroll, insolvency and tax software e.g. IRIS,

CCH, Digita, Sage, IPS, etc.

Networks include computers, voice, firewall.

The goal is to ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure to

provide maximum performance for their users. Users will be staff, clients, customers

and suppliers.

Responsibilities

General tasks include:

  • maintaining & supporting the networking environment
  • undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area

environments, using information from multiple sources;

  • maximizing network performance by monitoring performance,

troubleshooting network problems and outages, carrying out / supporting

upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network

optimisation;

  • designing & implementing system configuration and defined system

standards;

  • implementing new solutions and improving resilience of the current

environment;

  • migrating data from old servers to new;
  • upgrading various software as mentioned above and liaising with the

software vendors to resolve systems issues;

  • securing network systems by enforcing policies and monitoring access
  • support and administration of firewall environments in line with IT security

policy;

  • updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities,

reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and

participating in professional organisations;

  • upgrading data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases;
  • configuration of routing and switching equipment;
  • configuration of hosted IP voice services;
  • basic configuration of firewalls;

remote support of on-site engineers and end users/customers during

installation;

  • remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial

installation;

  • speaking with customers via email and phone for initial requirement

capture.


Salary

In line with the market.

Working hours

9:30am to 7pm. On call support on ROTA basis. Occasional overtime and weekend

working to manage international queries, transition and cut-over.

Qualifications & Skills

A degree in the following subjects will be preferred:

  • computer science;
  • computer software/computer systems engineering;
  • computer systems and networks;
  • electrical/electronic engineering;
  • mathematics;
  • network security management;
