Job Title: Learning Coach- Direct English Franchise

Job Location: Kullu( Himachal Pradesh)

Job Type: On Site

We are planning to establish a Direct English franchise in the enchanting Kullu Valley, (H.P.), commencing operations in April 2024. Aligned with the global Direct English network, our institute aims to deliver exceptional English language education to high school and college students, especially those from marginalised backgrounds. The institute also plans to extend its services to educational and vocational institutions and the hospitality & tourism sector. Being a social entrepreneurship project, we are committed to empowering individuals, especially those from marginalised and under-served communities, by equipping them with language and soft skills for academic & professional success.

Job Summary

As a Learning Coach, you will play a lead role within the training centre, focusing on addressing the needs of students who require specific assistance to overcome learning barriers. Your primary responsibilities include providing support, guidance, mentoring, and training to individuals and groups of learners. The Learning Coach will be responsible for setting and achieving realistic targets based on individual needs.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Graduate with a minimum of 2 years of working experience as an English Language Trainer.
  • Candidates must possess an English Language Training Certificate.

Key Responsibility Areas

Support for Trainees

  • Supervise students who are not adhering to a regular schedule.
  • Conduct assessments of students to identify those in need of particular assistance.
  • Assist staff in developing and implementing individual education, behavior, support, and mentoring plans for specific target groups of students.
  • Build productive relationships with students, serving as a role model.
  • Facilitate the efficient transfer of students across phases and integration of those who have been absent.
  • Provide information and advice to enable students to make choices about their own learning, behavior, and attendance.
  • Challenge and motivate students, promoting and reinforcing self-esteem.
  • Offer feedback to students regarding their progress, achievement, behavior, and attendance.
  • Provide appropriate levels of support and guidance to help students understand their learning.

Support for Trainers

  • Coordinate the production and dissemination of Individual Development Plans.
  • Assist students in accessing learning resources and strategies.Collaborate with other staff to plan, evaluate, and adjust learning activities as needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate students’ responses and progress against action plans through observation and planned recording.
  • Offer objective and accurate feedback and reports to other staff on students’ achievement, progress, and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence.
  • Manage record-keeping systems and processes.
  • Establish constructive relationships with parents/carers, offering support for their child’s access to learning and facilitating home-to-school and community links.

Support for the Curriculum (LMS)

  • Deliver and implement agreed learning activities and teaching programs, adapting activities based on pupil responses and needs.
  • Actively seek information about and utilize a range of activities, courses, organisations, and individuals to support students in broadening and enriching their learning.
  • Collect and relay feedback received from students on technical issues and any errors encountered during the learning programs.
  • Share feedback or updates with the team and students as necessary.
  • Support for the Training Centre.
  • Comply with and assist in the development of policies and procedures related to child/student protection, health, safety, security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Promote inclusivity and ensure that all students have equal access to learning opportunities.
  • Attend and actively participate in regular meetings.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos, work, and aims of the centre.
  • Recognise personal strengths and areas of expertise and use them to advise and support others.
  • Establish constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies and professionals, in coordination with the Head of Inclusion, to support students’ achievement and progress.
  • Participate in training and other learning activities as required.

Renumeration- Up to 3 lacs p.a. (based on relevant experience)
