Responsibilities

a) Planning:


1. Formulation of driver-based expense budgets at departmental, regional, and segmental levels, rolling up to the organizational operating expense budget.

2. Monthly Operating Expense MIS at departmental, regional & segmental levels, with variance commentary

3. Preparing rolling expense forecasts to aid finance leadership in performance management

4. Pro-active support in strategy formulation & review by identifying levers that impact the financial goals

5. Financial & business evaluation of new initiatives


b) Analysis:


1. Supporting decision making by providing insights on expense patterns & saving opportunities

2. Responding to business urgency by providing any ad-hoc expense analysis, as needed

3. Competitor benchmarking of operating expenses & ratios

4. Evaluating sales incentive scheme payouts v/s performance


c) Budget Control:


1. Rolling out budgets to end-users on a quarterly/annual frequency

2. Functioning as a budget controller in the procurement process by validating business needs & budget availability for any new spend

3. Conducting cost reviews and engaging with cost owners for discussion on cost reports

4. Responding to end-user requests on budget availability and spend limits


d) Process improvements & automation


1. Automation of processes & integration of various information sources to improve internal & external reporting

2. Working with other stakeholders in the finance vertical to drive the digitalization of processes



Desired Candidate Profile

  • Sound fundamentals in finance & accounting
  • Excellent financial modeling & MS Excel skills
  • Ability to contribute as an individual as well as a senior team member
  • Analytical & business-oriented bent of mind
  • Willingness to learn
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Exposure to automation & reporting tools such as Power BI / Planning software / RPA processes will be an advantage

Academic background: CA / B. Com / BBA / MBA / Actuarial Sciences
