THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN SELMA, ALABAMA

Selma Family Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide care in a rural family medicine clinic setting.

  • Performs specific, non-invasive clinical procedures to prepare patients for treatment
  • Assists physician or other healthcare team member in administering direct and indirect treatment
  • Adheres to all applicable policies and protocols
  • Performs clerical tasks as requested including, but not limited to, scheduling, maintaining patient charts, typing and insurance filing
  • May perform lab activities as requested
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives
  • Provides a safe environment for patients and others
  • Responds to the unique needs of all patients ages newborn through geriatric
  • Performs other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience. Clinic and/or outpatient experience is preferred

Hourly Range: $13.00 - $15.50

High School diploma or GED required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment. Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required.
