In line with the philosophy of being research and innovation-driven, the Bennett University, Greater Noida has been offering Ph.D.programs since the year of its raising. This year, the Ph.D.program is being offered by the Department of Physics, BU in the areas of Theoretical, Computational and Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, Biophysics, High Energy Physics, and Nonlinear Dynamics. The Ph.D.students are required to undertake advanced level course work, up to specified credits as per rules, including courses in research methodology. Further, they are required to qualify in the comprehensive examination at the end of course work. Only thereafter, they may register as scholars and takeup intensive research work under the guidance of a supervisor(s) on specific areas/problems, for a minimum duration of three years. The research work is expected to result in new findings contributing to the knowledge in the chosen field. Doctoral research program gives an opportunity for scholars to demonstrate their analytical, innovative and independent thinking, leading to creativity and application of knowledge. Scholars are required to deliver seminars/showcase their research progress, regularly and require publishing their work, as specified in PhD rules. Finally, they shall be required to submit the thesis, embodying their research findings for the award of the PhD. Degree.

Financial Support will be provided to all full-time Ph.D.students, in the form of PhD Assistantship.

Eligibility Criteria:
Academic Requirements (Minimum Qualifications): 60% Marks or a minimum CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale in a relevant program in M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc./M.Phil.
